Peter qualified in 1983 from King’s College Hospital and completed a clinical ‘taught’ Masters at the Eastman Dental Institute in 1988. After specialty clinical training jobs at the Eastman, The Royal London, King’s, Mayday and St. George’s Hospitals he was appointed as a NHS Consultant in 1995 between King’s College and St. George’s Hospitals. He served as Clinical Director of the Maxillo-Facial & Dental Unit at St. George’s for 14 years (1997-2011). He was appointed as training programme director / STC chair for Restorative Dentistry (Pan London) and Dental Core Training (South London).
He has published more than 60 publications which relate to clinical outcome, clinical innovation and postgraduate training. He has examined for the Royal College of Surgeons and Universities, to include: King’s College London, University of Sheffield and University College London. He served as the external examiner for the MDentSci implant programme (clinical module) at the University of Sheffield.
Peter was appointed as an Associate Postgraduate Dental Dean (Specialty) by Health Education England in 2015. in January 2017 he was appointed as the Interim Regional Postgraduate Dental Dean for London. In 2018 he was appointed as Regional postgraduate Dental Dean for London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex. He retired from this post in April 2023.
His dental interests include: Periodontology (gum disease), Dental Trauma, Dental Implantology, Endodontics (root canal therapy), Tooth Wear and Revision of failed (or failing) dentistry.
He opened a specialist referral practice in Farningham, Kent in 2004, managed by his wife Karen.
In addition to his clinical and education and training roles Peter has provided medico-legal advice/reports throughout his career. He provided his instructed report in 1997. Peter has given evidence at the GDC and district and high courts.
He now restricts his professional activities to this type of work and accepts instructions for medico-legal advice / reports from the defence agencies and solicitors. He provides reports to support cases that involve claims for personal injury or clinical negligence.

Karen qualified as a dental surgeon in 1983 from King’s College Dental Hospital.
After a year as a house office at King’s College Hospital she worked in general practice for 17 years before joining Hodsoll House to assist with the general running of the practice and to support the dento-legal services provided by the practice.
Karen’s main interests outside of work are her family (including grandchildren), walking and following sports which include: tennis, rugby and skiing.
