Dento-Legal

Good dental experts can be hard to find in medico-legal cases and I am pleased to be able to recommend Dr Briggs. His reports are of a good quality as they are well laid out and thoroughly considered. He is able to provide reports within a good time-frame. In conference he is always very well prepared and is happy to clarify matters or deal with additional points as they arise. The Courts are increasingly seeking to control expert fees and his fees are very reasonable. I have been working with Dr Briggs for some time now and hope to continue to do so in the future.

LA Davies and Partners Solicitors’

I have over 27 years experience as a dento-legal expert. I receive approximately 100 instructions for personal injury or cases of alleged dental negligence each year (~80% plaintiff, 20% defendant).

I feel I am very well placed to provide dento-legal opinions on a wide variety of restorative dental issues. I have received a broad training in all of the restorative dentistry disciplines. During my career I have worked in NHS and private practice, and worked as an NHS Consultant in Restorative Dentistry at St George’s Hospital / Queen Mary’s University London from 1995-2020.
I currently work as Regional Postgraduate Dean for Dental Education (London and Kent, Surrey and Sussex)

Through my current role, and my own personal continuing professional development, I keep up to date on all of the most recently published articles on the latest advances in restorative dentistry.

I believe my reports are balanced, and provide an honest appraisal of all of the facts associated with a particular case, both from the claimant’s and defendant’s perspective.

I have a dedicated medico-legal secretary who ensures that reports are completed in good time and that if further information is required, a prompt request is made to the defence agency, instructing solicitor or claim handler. Examination appointments at Hodsoll House Dental Practice are also arranged as rapidly as possible, with maps/directions sent to claimants by email / text.

Examination appointments can be arranged by contacting my secretary by email (pfabdental@hotmail.com) or Mobile (07729 843454)

Personal injury reports are normally completed within two weeks of the examination appointments, cases involving alleged dental negligence are normally completed within 6-8 weeks, depending on the complexity of the case. If deadlines are tight please contact my office and every effort will be made to prioritise that particular case.

If you wish to send an instruction, or require information with regard to fees, please send an email to pfabdental@hotmail.com
